Meetings and Workshops
The Pine to Prairie GIS User Group holds quarterly meetings
and workshops. The purpose of these events is to bring GIS users
together for educational opportunities, training, networking,
project/product demonstrations and socialization. Meetings and
workshops are typically held on the first Wednesday of the month
in March, June, September and December. The location of the
meetings and workshops will generally be at the offices of West
Central Initiative in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Meeting/workshop
agendas typically look like this:
10:00 -
11:00 Business meeting of the P2P GIS User Group
11:00 - 12:00 Demos/networking opportunity
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch (on your own)
1:00 - 3:30 Presentations
The above
meeting/workshop format is subject to change based upon the
content of each event, but that's the general format that is
used
The structure
of this meetings and workshops is arranged so those that can
only attend for a half day can still bring away with them new
information related to GIS as well as the opportunity to connect
with other GIS Professionals and GIS users.
Everyone
recognizes the need to provide educational opportunities to
employees to help stay current in technological advances in
the workplace. By working together at a regional level we can
help meet those needs through these locally organized workshop
opportunities.
